Rah! and Blah!

August 13th 2007 11:56
The Rundown on the absolutely awesome and the absolutely not.

BLAH!
Striving for mediocrity and succeeding every time.

Emerica

When Emerica were brainstorming how they'd sell their latest shoes, they knew from the start that they wanted to use a cardboard cutout of a hairy thirty year old stoner who lives at home with his mum and wears dumb hats, while standing around holding a shoe. Why does he hold the shoe? Is he high? Is he making a statement? Is he protecting it from the elements? Do we care?

Overkill

Yes, yes. Violence is chic. We get it. Which is easy, considering the image is about as subtle as a pitchfork to the head.

Plaza

Is anyone this happy when they shop? Why does she have colourful paper bags instead of drab white plastic. Why do we all curl up to this lie and act like being a consumer is anything but psuedo-existence?

poser

That's right kids. For only $149 you too could have a pair of sunglasses, based on a design prevalent in Op Shops, that complements an unsightly mullet and a passe 'rebel without cause' shtick.

RAH!
Bringing S-E-X-X-Y back

Fairy

Heroin addicts are always thinking of their next hit. They publish generic children's books to fund their habit, and this is the result.

Bus Drawing

Random people drawn on buses is cool. Just because.

Chic - if more people like that lass pictured came into my sotre it would brighen my day. It just seems to me most people in shopping centres look very unhappy or are very antagonistic to some degree. If you came into my shop all happy and jopyful you'd be welcome.

Damo - is it a sad indightment on me that that was my first thought?
