Hoppípolla

Hoppípolla is a song by (AWESOME!) the Icelandic band Sigur Ros.
Hoppipolla is one of the most beautiful songs ever made. The slow build-up, meeting with it’s epic conclusion, and slow, yet still deeply emotional drift off into nothing make it one of the most intense pieces of music you can access.
The song’s title is Icelandic for ‘Jumping in Puddles’. The Icelandic lyrics in part allude to children doing just this, however it is also partly written in Hopelandic – a made up language based on the sounds of the Icelandic language.
I saw this performed live. My head and my heart nearly exploded with delight. I’m quite short so to be honest I hardly even saw the band, but it made little difference. The power of this song is phenomenal. I’ve had rushes of pure energy before, mostly from acting in front of large audiences, and the power of this song is equal to that.
